Community Competency Framework
Āpōpō Professional Practice Accreditation programme is based on two complementary frameworks: Āpōpō Pou Herenga and the Āpōpō Knowledge Framework. The frameworks should be read together.
Applicants will need to demonstrate their competence in both frameworks in order for their application to be accepted.
Āpōpō Pou Herenga is a framework of community competencies which echo our understanding of te ao Māori as expressed in The Āpōpō Guide.
“Community competencies” emphasise the importance of empowering individuals and communities to actively participate in and contribute to their local or broader community.
